CATARMAN, Northern Samar — The Malasakit Center, launched on March 18, 2019 at the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital (NSPH) located in the capital town of Catarman, offers free hospitalization and medicines to patients confined at the said hospital.
Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino said during the launching that the project, intended to improve healthcare services in the country, has finally arrived in the province so that our brothers and sisters will enjoy cheaper, if not free medicines.
“All government agencies which offer financial help related to hospitalization such as Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office (PCSO), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), and Department of Health (DOH) will now be under one-roof so that patients will no longer spend time and money to go to other agencies just to ask for help,” Dino said.
He pointed out with the operation of Malasakit Center, after one’s confinement at NSPH, the patient and the family will no longer worry of his hospitalization bills and medication as this is shouldered by the center.
On the other hand, Governor Jose L. Ong, Jr. thanked President Duterte and former Special Assistant to the President Lawrence “Bong” Go for his genuine concern for the upliftment of the less privileged sector of the province. (NBQ/TBC/PIA-8, Nortehrn Samar)
