PGNS welcomes World Bank PRDP Team

Consistently looking for outside resources to combat poverty, Provincial Government of Northern Samar led by Governor Jose L. Ong Jr. welcomed the World Bank-Philippine Rural Development Project team that visited the province, May 15, Provincial Capitol Bldg, Catarman Northern Samar.

“Governor Jun Ong’s marching order is to provide livelihood projects for the marginalized fisherfolks and farmers and PRDP’s programs are very much aligned with this order,”said Provincial Vice Governor Gary Lavin. The World Bank- PRDP team is led by Frauke Jungbluth and NPCO PRDP National Project Director Engineer Cirilo Namoc.

PDC approves North Samar commodity investment plan

CATARMAN, North Samar – The Provincial Development Council approved the Northern Samar Commodity Investment Plan (NSCIP) as a means of fostering inclusive growth and reducing poverty incidence in the province during its recently conducted quarterly regular meeting at Ibabao Hall, Capitol Building, Catarman.

Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Romeo Cardenas said that PCIP is a 3-year rolling consensus plan that rationalizes the intervention within the various segments of the value chain of commodities that are of significance to the province and that will contribute to the national goal of the agriculture and fishery sector.
