In celebration of the National Children’s Month and 32nd Anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) has conducted activities and competitions for children held today, November 25, 2021 at Ibabao Hall, New Capitol Building, Brgy. Dalakit.
With the theme “New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!,” the culminating activity aims to showcase the children’s potentials and talents through various competition and to promote the rights of children.
“The faces of our children today mirror the kind of society that we have, the kind of society that we, duty-bearers, are building for them; and I hope we are not failing our children,” Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Jenny O. Darish said.
Children from 24 municipalities participated the celebration with various activities such as poster-making, spoken poetry, logo-making, tula, and draw-and-tell.
“While we have the modest achievements in our programs for children, we will not stop there. Much has yet to be done. The future of our children lies in the hands of those who work today.” Governor Edwin Marino C. Ongchuan said represented by Board Member Gina O. Silvano.
