The Provincial Government of Northern Samar, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, is to deliver relief augmentation today, this time for the municipalities of Hilongos and Matalom.
These towns in the southern part of the Province of Leyte were also heavily battered by Super Typhoon Odette. Each municipality is to receive 400 sacks of rice, 100 boxes of canned sardines, 100 boxes of canned vienna sausage, 40 boxes of cereal milk drinks, 50 boxes of coffee, and 100 boxes of 6-liter bottled water. Solid M Construction and the Northern Samar Contractors Association lend their trucks for use in the said operation, in addition to those of the provincial government, while personnel from the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office will escort them.
Last weekend, the PGNS also provided relief augmentation to the City of Maasin and the Provincial Government of Southern Leyte.
As previously mentioned by Governor Edwin Ongchuan, this is just Northern Samar paying it forward for the help it receives whenever natural disasters hit our province. He continues to hope for the immediate recovery of everyone in Odette-affected areas.
