Catarman, Northern Samar – The Provincial Government of Northern Samar under the leadership of Governor Edwin Ongchuan conducted its first public hearing of the proposed Revised Northern Samar Provincial Omnibus Revenue Code of 2022, yesterday, February 21, 2022 at the Ibabao Hall, Provincial Capitol.
In his welcome remarks, Board Member Christian Emmanuel Uy, Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee Chair on Ways and Means recognized the Revenue Generation Group (RGG) chaired by Allan Valenciano, Provincial Treasurer for their tireless efforts in the revision of the Revenue Code of 2022.
BM Uy showed optimism that through the revised revenue code, the Province could generate an additional income of at least P60 million which could be translated into more effective and efficient delivery of social services to the Nortehanons. He assured the participants that he will help fast track SP’s approval of the said code.
Valenciano discussed the salient points of the Revenue Code and thanked the presence of board members Hazel dela Rosa, Gina Ong, Marites Gillamac; PGNS department heads; RGG members; and other stakeholders who participated in the public hearing.
The next public hearing is set today, February 22, 2022, 2pm at the Balicuatro College of Arts and Trades in Allen and on February 23, 2022, 2pm at the Laoang Integrated Enterprise Commercial Complex in Laoang, Northern Samar. sel/pio
