To bring government services closer to the people, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar led another service caravan today, February 24, 2022 in Brgy. Rombang, Laoang.

The Kausagan Caravan, the 9th so far, delivered services to the people of Rombang and its neighboring barangays – Yapas, Tinoblan and EJ Dulay, who all gathered in Bgy. Rombang located in a narrow waterway along Hangtud River.

Food packs, hygiene kits, farm tools, seedlings, veterinary medicines, slippers, toys, biscuits, vitamins and medicines, kiddie gifts, face masks, alcohol and other supplies were among those distributed to eager residents while some agencies conducted ID registration, gave free haircut and provided their agency’s respective services. These included PSA, TESDA, BFAR, DAR, DTI, DSWD, DepEd, PCA, UEP, DPWH, BFAR, DSWD, DepEd, DOH, PCA, DA, Philippine Army, PNP, BFP, among many. Other than offices under the Provincial Government, LGU Laoang also joined the caravan, along with non-government partners such as Red Cross and private individuals.

Governor Edwin Ongchuan addressed the public during the Opening of the Caravan, so with Laoang Mayor Harris Ongchuan and the barangay chairpersons of the 4 beneficiary barangays.

Like the other Caravans, Governor Edwin also led the tree-planting, with his better half, Mrs. Bles Ongchuan, Mayor Harris, San Roque Mayor Don Avalon, PNP Provincial Director Alfredo Tadefa, 803rd Brigade Commander Perfecto Penaredondo, heads and reps of other agencies.

The Kauswagan Caravan is part of Governor Ongchuan’s commitment to better serve the people by bringing services closer to them, especially those geographically isolated, as much as look into their issues and concerns as basis for developing meaningful programs and interventions.
