CATARMAN, Northern Samar — The Philippine National Police, Northern Samar Police Provincial Office lauds accomplishment in 2019 particularly on the campaign against illegal drugs.

This was expressed by Col. Reynaldo Dela Cruz, during the PIA radio program at station DYSM, on January 18, 2020.

“We were able to conduct 44 anti-illegal drugs operations and arrested 52 persons, confiscated 10, 8081 kilograms of Shabu including the 9.5 kilograms recovered in Biri, N. Samar on August 10, 2019 and 2.93 kilograms of marijuana,” Dela Cruz informed.

The total worth of shabu confiscated reached to P 64,690,975.20 pesos.

On the barangay drug clearing operations, of the 279 barangays affected, 265 were certified cleared barangays as validated by PDEA.

Remarkable efforts and performance were also noted in the campaign against illegal gambling, logging and fishing.

NSPPO also served  440 warrant of arrest which resulted to the arrest of one most wanted person in the region, 18 in the provincial level, 16 in the municipal level and 405 other wanted persons.

Dela Cruz said, had it not been for the people, the community and local officials, all these efforts would not have been that successful. (nbq/A.Diaz/PIA-Northern Samar)
