CATARMAN, Northern Samar, — The Provincial Government of Northern Samar resumed its regular work schedule on Jan. 18 as announced by the Provincial Information Office based on Memorandum No. 11-01-21 signed by Governor Edwin Marino Ongchuan with the consistent low COVID-19 cases recorded in the previous weeks.

For two months, the provincial government imposed the alternative work arrangement keeping the workers safe and preventing the spread of the virus.

Before the resumption, the leadership made sure the area is safe by mandating disinfection in offices, its premises and facilities, assured health status of the employees as well as job orders and contract workers through a survey making sure no one is having any symptoms.

Other preventive measures include modifying the workplace layout to effect physical distancing and ensuring compliance to the observance of minimum health protocols.

As of Jan. 18, per report from PIO Allen Berbon, the province has recorded 1,330 cases. Out of this number, 1,293 have already recovered, 17 active cases and 20 deaths. (nbq/ADiaz/PIA N. Samar)
